MT.O Support Auction
on:
June 20, 2010, 01:08:47 AM
Ok guys! Gadget Guy had me thinking a couple weeks back about supporting this site that has been so good to everyone over the years. So, I am wanting to do my part. I have a Dave22 Pocket Screwdriver made out of Ti that I am going to auction off. As far as I know he is no longer making anymore of these, so there is a a slight rarity factor, not to mention its pretty freaking cool.
Rules:
1) Auction will be open for one week and will close at 11:59 PM EDT Saturday, July 26, 2010.
2) Must be paid via paypal directly to Def using the gift option.
3) I will ship via airmail on my dime, if you want it sooner then PM me for details.
4) Post your bids in this thread.
I think that pretty much sums it up. Now get to bidding.

Awesome auction.
I'll start with $10.
Zack is correct, Dave will never make these again. It was a project that I started and Dave gets bored easily so he hates to make the same thing twice.
Sometimes change is a good thing, other times not so much!

Maybe its just my inexperience, but how the heck does it work? Looks like one of Paul Bunyan's shirt buttons to me!

Why is it doing that?

It works only for non-recessed screws that you would normally turn with a flathead screwdriver (or coin). The width on its side ramps up, from fractions of a mm to one or two mms, to provide grip for different (flathead) screw heads. The holes in the middle are just for decoration.

It would be funny if you use it as an actual button, either on a jacket or bag, then you'd always have a screwdriver with you.
