SwissTech Micro Tech
on: August 23, 2010, 04:20:16 AM
I just bought 2 Swiss+Tech Micro Techs off Ebay.  They are supposed to be the older non-Stainless version made in the US.  Are they better than the newer Chinese-made?  I got these cheap enough so I figured what the heck...

They were pretty damn well made. Simple, yet quite rugged. :salute:

I haven't tried the Chinese-made ones yet to see how they would compare. :-\

The Chinese ones aren't terrible, but they aren't the best either. My Wal-Mart had a slew on clearance awhile back and I bought up a bunch for stocking stuffers and extras in trades and such.  What I found is no two are exactly alike.  One package would be spot on, the other too tight, the other too loose.  But, overall to have as a handy keychain backup that won't break the bank...they are nice enough.

I have some China made ones and some US ones and I really don't see a difference between them.  They are pretty simple, so it's not hard to master the details on them.

I can't see any quality control differences either.
A little Leatherman information.

I have been surprised at the wire the little bugger can cut.
