Found this SAK while moving, was in dad's old gadget box. Where all the oddball knives ended up, some strange stiletto types were in there too. Anyhow, what is this critter? Looks like it make a good sinker for salmon fishing!

First glance appears to be a Wenger knockoff; though I do doubt that Wenger would make a knife with two awls, there's really no telling some days... especially with their Toilet Paper SAK.

One's a long awl, the other I think is a sewing needle if I were to guess. No sharp edges, just the point.
Where do SAK's normally stamp their tools?

The markings are on the tang of the main blade. This one is clearly a knockoff though- scissors are wrong, too many tools on the backside (and some of which are just too funky), bottle opener/screwdriver is wrong, saw is wrong, nail file is wrong... in fact, there's very little about this one that is actually
right
for being a "real" SAK. I'd say this one probably retailed for about $11.99 at a local fishing shop.

Thanks. It goes out the window on the highway then.

Just because it's not a
real
SAK doesn't make it useless. It could make a nice gift to someone who doesn't know any better, it could sit in a fishing tackle box, or it may even be functional. Some knockoffs, especially nowadays are not all that bad. I'd suggest using your best judgment on it- if it seems useful, use it, regardless of the name on it. If not, well there's always the highway!

It's useless to me. It's just something I found in his gadget box. Figured maybe some hitchhiker or foot traveler might find it. Maybe make someone's day.
Anyhow, you can go ahead and delete this post, mister administrator. It was a fake!

I was just throwing out a guess... it kind of reminds me of the old Cold Steel Special Projects Swiss Steel knives that Lynn Thompson tried putting out a while back to try and put Switzerland out of business. I doubt it's one of those, as I'm pretty certain none were ever actually distributed.
If it is a Cold Steel Swiss Steel model, I'll pay good money for it!

I forgot about those...
I started a knockoff collection a long time ago...gave up when the China made ones flooded the market.

I have an affinity for some of the better SAK clones. Most of the ones coming from different parts of Europe aren't bad at all, and some of the Oriental ones have decent quality too.

I quite like the look of the scales on this little Richartz Classic clone..
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Of all the SAK copiers Richartz seem to have the best quality. However they are pretty much the same RRP as the Swiss ones.
