Marbles 1" compass
on: September 06, 2010, 03:11:29 PM
I got one of these to edc recently. I don't know why - I will hardly ever use it - I just like it.
It's a good compass, a bit slow as it is in liquid, but a nice feel to it. IIR Marbles is an old USA company, but this is made in China - good quality.

The same could be said of half the stuff I carry.  Nice looking compass.

I was tempted to get one of those myself - I feel the need to carry a compass even though I'm unlikely to really need it :)

They are very cute too!

I've drooled over those for a long time :)  Never seen them for sale in the UK and price to get one was always prohibitive.

Nice picture :tu:
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

I thought they look pretty good but when I did some research on them, they seem to be declination adjusted to certain areas, could get confusing.

There not super accurate (at least mine isn't) but it's more than good enough as a rough direction finder :)

Not exactly hard to swap them round though :)

I worry more about air bubbles and leakage on the cheap button compasses.  I had some very basic but really pretty neat tiny red ones that dried out and became useless over a couple of years :(

I still think they're cool looking  :tu: and as I'll most likely only carry one in my pocket, well if I can navigate around my pockets with it then it'll do   :salute:
