It's a great piece of Multi-Tool.  Still don't understand why it was discontinued.

From what I heard from the grapevine, it outsold the other Juices. Leatherman's CO/XO decided to kill it off so the company could liquidate their back inventory. Seems if the KF4 was selling, it would of been wiser to discontinue some of the runts. Then maybe progress the line-up with a KSF4 (scissors version). - I could be wrong as this was just virtual gossip & conjecture.

Juice Pro has the shortest lifespan of all the Leatherman tools looks like. Was the foil cutter for the wine bottles?


What's the XE4 stand for? eXperimental Executive 4 tools???

K - Knives/Knife
S - Scissors
C - Corkscrew
P - Pliers
E - Electrical Stripper
2 & 4 were the main OH* tools

Try finding one that's not on eBay. Spent two weeks contacting every company that had one listed on their web pages. Only found one (today), and the guy decided he wasn't going to sell it. Haven't seen any on eBay till recently, and a few were fairly well banged up.

I seen several NIB KF4s go for under 60.00 in the last year. Most used KF4s run in the 30.00 to 50.00 range.

i still shed a tear when i think about passing up a new in the blister pack KF4 at TJ Maxx two years ago. It was 39.99 i think. I got the Supertool 200 instead. A great tool also but.......one has to wonder ::)

$86.99 seems a little high for a used one or even a new one, but things are worth what we're willing to pay for them.  I've seen "new" PST's on Ebay going for around $70 (a bit high) and other times a deal so good with "buy-it-now" that only lasts a few minutes!  Best advise is try to shop around a little for retired LM and only pay the higher prices for "brand new" and that's only if you have to.  I've found some very nice retired stuff here on the forums which I got by fair trading.

I decided to ask Leatherman themselves for the true meaning of life the xE6. Beth was very helpful with her response below  :tu:

"6 comes from 2 handles times 3 layers of external tools.  XE did not represent specific features or words.  It just implied it had the most and everything."

I'm no Einstein but I propose the following equation :D
2 handles x 3 layers Equals 6

The two that I have, I think I paid around 45.00 for a gray one ( USA ) used in exc. condition, one small nick that you can hardly see and the tools are unused. The other is new with papers, no box ( solar yellow ) ground out USA. Won that one for around 30.00. I got these in the spring, this year. since then I havent seen many gray ones. I think 86.00 is a little high But I have paid much higher for tools because I had to have them and was not going to let them get away. You won it, Its your and not someone elses. congrats  :cheers: and enjoy it. D :tu: Dont regret it.

Ewww, keep the file! Toss the serrated or saw. I'd day toss the serrated for scissors - or make a special blade exchanger just for the Juices.
