Is pretty crazy. I just by chance found out Kabar the knife company is owned by Cutco, yes the infamous company that sells overpriced crappy kitchen knives with very questionable sales tactics. Kabar has pretty good reputation and makes good products, who knew they are owned by a company with such a bad name in cutlery world?

Globalization. The same company that sells you cigarettes sells you sliced cheese as well (that's Philip Morris, in case somebody doesn't know).
I guess the times where you relied on a brand because it made ONE quality product are over.

Got even a better one for you. Ontario Knife Company is owned by Servotronics Inc., a company that has really nothing to do with Cutlery. You know who is also owned by Servotronics Inc.?..............Queen Cutlery!

Ontario and Queen are sister companies. Do you know who owns the Robeson Cutlery Company brand?........Ontario! Do you know who owns the Schatt & Morgan brand?.........Queen Cutlery! Ontario Knife Company owns Robeson but all Robeson knives are made by Queen. Do you know where all the Robeson and Queen knives are made?.........In the original Schatt & Morgan factory!

Confusing right?
