Attended a macro course. (Pic and reptile heavy)
« on: October 22, 2010, 04:24:18 AM »
The local AV store is having a photo week with good deals on equipment and free courses with some of Norway’s best photographers. Today I attended a macro course with Norway’s best macro and wildlife photographer, he is even  National Geographic's pay role. After a 1,5 hour lecture we ventured to Oslo Reptile park for a 2 hour workshop, and I will tell you this, shooting macro with animals that moves is not easy. I took about 150 pictures but there is only 26 that I feel is worthy to go on the net. The entire thing was crazy when we was at the park, there was DSLR cameras and equipment there for hundreds of thousands of dollars, flashes going of non-stop and the sounds of shutters opening and closing was like machinegun fire

If you click the bar on top of the pictures you will get a HUGE image so you can study the details

I know that this is not a reptile but it might become part of one if the owner take it work often enough

Here you see 6 out of the 100 photographers that was at the workshop, if you think the pic looks funny it’s because I borrowed a 15mm fish eye.

I was lucky enough to feed these cute little critters

I really like this one.

This little thing whey’s 30 kg and is called Lillegutt and directly translated means Little Boy, he actually broke one of the course holder ribs last year when he had a course at the park. This is truly a powerful animal and it was very strange to have it around my neck.

Thanks Neil, that bird was a bit unstable and tried to eat one of the lenses that I borrowed.

Did you use a true macro lens...one that can get you down to 1:1 magnification? If not, it is not macro photography, but close up photography...for the purist. :D

Either way, love the photographs. Great job. :salute:
