James May's Man Lab
on: November 01, 2010, 12:31:47 AM
On earlier this evening and viewable on iplayer.

James deploys his trusty SAK to remove the fuse from a WWII bomb.... as you do ;)

I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

You also got a brief glimpse of his friend using a Charge (I think).   Not wholeheartedly convinced by the show, but good enough that I'll tune in again next week. :)

Can you remember what section?  I'll see if I can get a screen grab.

Agree with comment, worth seeing how it pans out.

I think it was during the train building montage, but I might be well off the mark.

That's the shot I was thinking off, but it's not a Leatherman, is it?

Slightly disconcerting that he can't get the old wiring colours right though ::)  ::)

Though as I pointed out to my wife, most people are not confident wiring a plug as everything is moulded these days and that's a very good thing considering some of the hack jobs you see on old equipment!

I was disappointed by was the finish on the concrete sink
If he had used a vibrator it would have been a lot better
You can hold a hammer drill with something smooth in the chuck against the mold, this will settle the concrete and get the air out

I've not spotted and MTs in the first two episodes of the new series.  However I have enjoyed both episodes more than the ones from last series so will continue watching :tu:

Thanks for the bump. It seems like an amusing past time.

I learned that when I was about ten. Same time I learned how to patch a fuse too. :ahhh (You know, the old ceramic ones with a thin wire in them)

I often wonder how I survived my childhood when I remember all the dangerous stuff I played with.
