No offence expressed or implied , but if I broke a tool by being a dumbass , I would consider it morally wrong to claim on warranty .

Chris

Not if you told them you had been one and offered to pay first.

The only experience I've had with the warranty department so far was when the file snapped on my Squirt P4 from when my buddy borrowed it and used it as a pry bar, he felt bad and offered to pay for the shipping and repairs and I explained the entire incident in a letter to Leatherman.  No questions asked, they sent back a reconditioned one which didn't have the scratches from my keys on it.  It was a great experience with their warranty department.

Alright, LOL :) so I am a dumbass.  I prefer to have gotten the "Here's Your Sign" award or a simple "Dee Dee Dee" from Carlos Mencia.  LOL  Live and learn and I should have used a pry bar.  lets lok at the bright side, now I know what  Leatherman Wave will not do.  :)

If you own multi's or SAK's , folders etc . , a Gerber Shard or artifact , or a pocket wrench is a very good investment . Always got one on my keyring .

The hubcap was the factory Ford unit, not a cheap aftermarket one from Wally"s World.  I find that they grab the wheel tighter and thus do not come off as easy.  :)  I now carry the Pocket Wrench 2 in my EDC setup.

Someone should sent Leatherman a Vic for repairs one of these days just for smurfs and giggles.   :D

OK, I got my Wave back from Leatherman today.  It looks like they did not repair my tool but rather replaced it with what seems to be a new Wave.  The Pliers are very tight on it like my other one was when it was new.  Plus the file is clean where mine had minor signs of wear on it.  I have it back now which is good and now I know what it can not do.  LOL  :)

That's great!  I hope with its absence it has not been replaced by the Spirit  :)

Somehow the Wave may be a bit more versatile because of the bitkit, however the Vic Spirit feels better made and I prefer its locking system over the Wave.  They are both nice multi tools and I will just switch between them.  :)
