Is there a way that I can turn off the messenger window that pops up on my hotmail window (if that makes sense) so that I can just use messenger is the original way of just having it pop up on it's own tab?
It keeps telling me that I am signed in on 2 places, and yet when I click to sign out of one, it always closes down the better one leaving me with the Facebook like chat window whic is in the corner of my email account window. I don't want that one.
Anyone know a solution? Anyone know what I am even talking about?

A lot of beer and a wine that I am ashamed to admit!
I didn't think that did, let me see if I can make more sense (I doubt it)...
When signed into a hotmail account, you can see who is logged into messenger on there and can also send messenger messages. But, I want to close that one off completely as I like to have the separate window (like the old fashioned way) and do it like that. Currently, I am doing it on it's own window AND it's updating in my hotmail account window. Drives me sodding mad.
That doesn't make sense either does it?

There should be a "Sign Out Of Messenger" option somewhere in the hotmail window. Try hovering over your username... or clicking on your username.

I done that, but it signs me completely out of messenger, including what I want to use.
I just want a sign out of messenger option for just that window (if ya get me).

Meh who needs you anyway...
Turns out Reinier was right!
Signed out of messenger on my hotmail account and I still appear to be logged in on messenger itself.
Will test it and see if it works...
