Subic Naval Base was the largest overseas military installation of the United States Armed Forces after Clark Air Base in Angeles City (also in the Philippines).
The US pulled out in 1992 when ount Pinatubo errupted. It's now Subic Bay Freeport Zone (similar to Hong Kong and Singapore) spans a total of 13,800.60 hectares Part of the 13,800.60 hectares is still virgin forest. Aside from industrial, commercial and financial activities booming, its tourism is also boooming because of its resorts, parks, beaches and zoo.
At the time of our visit this US naval ship was docked at the port. Can you identify this? I think it is a helicopter carrier.

There's a big number 5 on its side. I don't know what that means.
