Ubuntu 10.10 is out!

I did check and came out fine, now that I think about it I'm not sure what speed I did it at, suppose I could make sure to drop it to 4. I did notice when I ran it on verbose boot that as it was loading drivers etc. it came up with a TON of errors, all related to the GPU. It seems to have a serious issue with the GTS360 in this thing. It's frustrating as crap. Wish I could get it to boot in safe mode from the Live CD, but the option doesn't seem to exist anywhere that I can find. If I could get it to run enough to try and find a driver I'd be happy, but I can't seem to get that far in the process, and I really don't want to use the "install within windows" set-up.

iirc the "alternate" cd is the one that has safe graphics mode option

Excellent! Downloading that one now! Looks like it might do the trick  Here's hoping I can get it up and running.

It's exactly whats happening on my computer. It's the same model laptop. Apparently there really is just an endemic problem with runnin 10.10 on this particular hardware. Glad I'm not just insane lol. Found a couple threads like this. 10.10 just can't handle the GTS360 out of the box.

It's not even that new, this model is over a year old lol. Oh well, about to see if I can get it going. Hopefully I can find the drivers. I'll be thrilled if I can get it going before I have to leave the house for the day.
