Amici,
I went with the PS4, it has allot of bang for the buck, plus little weight.

Cheers,
Serge

I personally LOVE the PS4, but I think the MUT is going to take the cake this year. If only I could afford one!

I can see the poll results.  When I ask for results I just get a screen flash.

I have not voted, not really being familiar with more than 1 or 1.5 tools on the list.  I am planning on picking up a PS4, just for fun.  These small tools, while inexpensive, don't scream quality like Vic tools. The saving grace is that you can easily maintain them yourself.  Maybe 2011 Vic will finally make a mini-plier tool with real quality.

Kinda surprised that the only multitool to have billet toolsteel pliers with roller bearings and non-stamped parts was left out guys?

I wish there was an "Other" choice for my AR Multitasker.

The Series 2 Multitasker was omitted because it was not a "new" model, but an update to an old one, without significant changes.

You will also note that the new SOG Micro Tool Clip isn't on the list either, for the same reason.

The Alinghi and Squirts could as well be seen as updates, but given that the vast majority of the tools were updated, I included them.  Significant thought was put into what models to include, I assure you.

I voted MUT. Although I like the ps4, the size limits its use. The mut is a designated tool for military and civilian weapon owners with its own unique design including a hammer. :o Surely it will influence many tools to come.

The MUT is a serious piece of multitoolage but I think its price will deter non gun owners from trying it  :-\

It's definitely not first multitool material :D

If other "updated" models are included on this list then the Multitasker should be as well, my vote won't be cast until all options are given to us to chose from.

Even if I was to add it, it wouldn't be fair now as most of the voting period is over.

I used car magazine rules for this- models need to be new or significantly updated to be included, and having seen both the Series 1 and Series 2 Multitaskers side by side, I didn't see any significant differences.

Put a new and Old Squirt side by side and it's pretty obvious that they are different.

If you choose not to vote, that's your prerogative.

Thanks Def, but I thought the voice of members here carried some weight. Last year was it that the Spirit X was also omitted from the list and added after a few members, myself included, requested the change, and a new poll can always be made with the updates.

It wouldn't be much of a vote if folks didn't disagree on things.

We have a pretty clear front runner so far, so if anyone has yet to have their say, I suggest you get it in soon- time is running out!

I rather think that Multitasker is getting a bit of the shaft on this as well.  Even if you don't consider the S2 a new tool, what about the Ultralight?  It's a hell of a lot more of a multitool than a Gekota or a Microbrew!

(I don't consider the Tube to be a true multi, but more of a very convenient maintenance kit.  YMMV)
Half-ass done wholeheartedly!

If Shane would like to keep me abreast of his new products, I would be happy to include them in the future.  Until then, I'm sure that it wouldn't have been able to dethrone the frontrunner that we have this year, especially considering that I'm certain most of the folks don't even know what the Ultralight is.

Anyone else have a complaint?  Better hurry, voting closes tomorrow.

I just received my Squirt PS4 yesterday.  I think it's the first Leatherman plier tool I've paid for.  First impressions are quite favorable. Not really being familar with the Squirts, it was pleasently a bit smaller that I thought it would be.  It's lighter than the Swiss-Tech Micro-Plus EX; the scales feel good to me so if they hold up I'll like them.  I did have to tap the scissor rivet a few times to make the scissors work right, out of the box they were pretty bad compared to the Vic ones I'm use to.  They are better now, but it will take a little more actual usage to see if they make the mark.  They're a bit small, and I prefer the larger Vic scissors, so for myself I'm inclined to consider them as a last resort, rather that a go-to tool.  I quite like the pliers, but I also very much like the pliers on the Micro-Plus.  The keyring attachment does not give me a lot of confidence in it's strength, but I love how it swivels and is not fix like on SAKs which can really bother me on some models so much that I like to grind them off or collect the versions without the keyring attachement.
