How do you sharpen you SAK's serrated blade?

How do you guys sharpen the serrated blade most 111 mm SAK serrated blades?

I like many others use a Spyderco Shapmaker . It fits Vics angle of serrations spot on . Very easy and quick to do as well .

I have seen that Spyderco sharpener when I dropped by Donald's (Duckman) place on our way to Baguio City last year. He has one and he demonstrated to me how to sharpen a plain edge knife using that sharpener. I didn't know that we can also use that to sharpen serrated blades.

Just talked to Gene. He said that Spyderco sharpener is available in Manila for 4,000 pesos or 90USD equivalent.

Yes for serrated blades you use the corner instead of the flat of the stone . When you buy a shapmaker you get a very good instruction book and DVD with it that explains everything in detail .

The way he's sharpening them--isn't that going to wear down the serrations eventually?  I'll admit know nothing about sharpening serrations.  I always assumed that the serrations would have to be sharpened more individually than taking a full swipe down the length of the blade.

I do tend to take a little more time on mine and sharpen the indevidual serrations , with great results as well .

Another vote for the Sharpmaker.  It works perfectly.

Sharpmaker , IMVHO - best option for SAK serrations . Idiot proof if used as directed , just don't let the serrations get too heavily worn . The fine stones on a Sharpmaker take off minimal metal .

Almost forgot...
I have an old leather belt hanging from the ceiling.  After using the Sharpmaker, I pull the flat side against the belt, then the beveled side against the corner of the belt.  Makes it ever so much sharper, and is good for maintaining it between sharpenings.
