US Military marked SAK's
on: January 16, 2011, 05:14:57 PM
There are several Victorinox Classics and Spartan SAK's with a metal seal inlay for various branches of the US Military. The inlays are whatever metal they use for the modern common Victorinox Shield design. None that I have seen have the Victorinox Shield. As far as I know and have seen there have only been 2 Spartan models made as seen below. All the rest are Classic or Classic SD models. These were made available to various US Military PX Exchange, Commissary Store or whatever they call the stores found on various US Military bases now. As far as I know and according to some US Military personnel I have talked with only the US Army and US Air Force are still found NIB.

Here are a few of the harder to find models. I have photos to take and more blog posts for the more common US Army and US Air Force so check back for updates.

US Marine Corps - both a Classic and a Spartan were made and both are can be pretty hard to find.http://sakfan.blogspot.com/2011/01/victorinox-military-spartan-us-marine.html

US Coast Guard - only a Classic was made and typically this one is very hard to find.

US Navy - both a Classic and a Spartan were made and both are kind of hard to find.

The Victorinox US Air Force Classic is fairly common and can sometimes still be found NIB. They only made a classic for the USAF. This particular model also has a seal for the Air Training Command on the back side. I have never seen this before except this one.

The US Army Classic gets dressed in regular black scales with the seal for the US Army replacing the normal Victorinox Shield. Only the classic is available that I know of.

None of these are rare.  I see them for sale all the time in the PX/BX.   I bought the Army Classic way back in 1991...wow!!  20 years ago....I am getting old...I turn 39 in about 2 weeks.

OK, in that case I want a NIB Coast Guard version as mine is quite used. How much are they there at the PX?
