I only just saw this thread, even though I'm always checking for new ones. Maybe it was hidden somehow? Anyway thanks for the post, this looks really interesting.

Is it me, or did it look like Sal was getting irritated as Hell with NutnFancy right from the get-go? I made it about 4 min. in before his constantly interrupting Sal for no obvious reason other than to blather pointlessly annoyed me into stopping.

I honestly used to really like the guy, but after a while I just got tired of him, especially as he started getting even more long-winded, then his "I don't read the forums" B.S.

He has some good info, but I could not for the life of me understand how he had the Kershaw Skyline a better choice for the sandbox than the ZT 200. You can cut a skyline in half with the zt. He was calling on the weight factor, and when he was questioned on it he removed the guys comments. The question was. You are carrying 30 lbs of body armor and weaponry just to go to the head, what diff does 1/2 lb make.
He really likes to hear himself, but I will say again he does make some sence on some stuff. but for the most part I like cutlerylover on youtube better.

TBH I must agree with you  :salute:

I think his popularity has changed him; ego anyone? The girl from the Leatherman vid mentioned him so they must be aware of him  :-\

If you cut Nutnfancy out it would triple the content of the interview :D Normally anything on Youtube over a few minutes I don't watch. I might bookmark to watch when I get a chance but that rarely happens  ::)

I think that says it exactly. He has an ego problem, and as soon as his vids started getting popular (admittedly for a good reason- at first) he started thinking he was some kind of EDC God.

I liked him best when the reviews were 10 minutes long. That's economical, and says everything you need to say, I don't have time for 26 minute reviews. I don't find him irritating, but that's a personal thing I guess.

Anyway, I wonder that he emphasizes the weight issue so much. Do other (ex)soldiers (or mountain climbers etc)think about weight so much? I find my old puma lockback knife (in the style of a Buck 110) so comfortable and balanced, I don't really care if it weighs more than three G10-linerless Spyders.

The issue of weight is really up to the owner. I have 2 blades that he reviewed (vex, and Flash2) The two were reviewed in his Vex review and he passed on it for the flash because of weight. About an oz. Now if you ever held both the vex is way better built with the steel used and the g10 handles compared to plastic. wtih no liners.
The BM vex is a great blade that is really bullett proof and solid, but because of one oz he disreguarded it.

Then there is the Rat 1 folder that he touts as the best out there. That is after he mods it to what he thinks it should be. Right down to duracoting the blade. It just doesnt make sence.

I understand him looking for the perfect blade. We all are, but comeon. If 1 oz throws you offbalance maybe you should just carry a plastic spork.

While I can't speak to being a soldier, as an outdoorsman and hiker yes, weight is important.  Extremely important.  If you're on a two-week backpacking trek through the desert I guarantee you're trying to shave every possible ounce off of your carry weight so you can carry more water.

As to the video, from what I know Sal Glesser *hates* being on camera, so it's no surprise he looked uncomfortable.

I think Nutnlongwinded has some valid points on many things, but buddy, I don't care about your politics.  Also, if you don't want people looking you up on the internet and posting sh*t about you, DON'T GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION IN YOUR GODDAMNED VIDEOS.
