The amassing thing was the next day the water was gone  .
So many Queens-landers homes got completely trashed with everything having to be thrown out.

The clean up / rebuilding is going too take months/years.

How strange it must have been for those who slept though the flood, only to come outside a few hours later after it was over and find the cars all stacked up like that!

You think that was bad?  A few years ago a small town in Newfoundland was flooded when a levee was opened.  The flood waters were about 4 feet deep, and covered pretty well the whole town.  The problem was, this was done in the middle of winter, and it's pretty darned cold in Newfoundland in the winter.  The water froze solid- all of it, from the ground up.



Be glad it's warm down there!

I duuno Def up in Queensland people's houses are literally rotting with fish & other dead animals that got washed into houses decaying once the water receded. It gets mighty hot up there , apparently the smell is something awful  .

Given a choice between 4 feet of solid ice in my house or rotting dead fish, I'll take neither.
