Kent is a relatively large county, but not by American standards ;)

We have people on weight loss reality shows that are larger than Kent.
 ;)

I noticed that Warwickshire is nestled neatly into Worcestershire. I wonder if at one point they produced a competing "Warwickshire Sauce" that just never caught on. Perhaps the rivalry exists to this very day.

Sooo, is everything -shire?

Really though, are the counties there like states in the US?  MAAAN that sounded like a newb question if I ever heard one...  Really, I am not a typical American that only looks inward, I love learning about the world but I have never really researched the UK because it's so similar in a lot of ways to the US.

You know I actually have a co-worker that thinks England is connected to France by land?  And he argued the point until I brought him a map!  Sad thing is...He's 25 years old!

Nothing like US states.  In reality counties are more a historic traditional thing than anything of practicality.  Some local services are still county based, ish, just.   I suppose a closer analogy to the US states would be the individual countries making up the United Kingdom   not quite but closer than counties :)

We are kind of connected to France, just by a big long tunnel :D
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.
