Does the MUT long bit fix the reach problems?

Pretty simple question. Do the new MUT long bit have better reach than the standard flat bits? Do the "shoulders" of the bits still get in the way?

If the bit shoulders get in the way on the standard bits, then they will get in the way with the longer bits. Other than the length of the shaft, they are identical to the shorter bits. However, if you mean the bit holder getting in the way, then yes, it does solve that problem, at least somewhat.

I came across this older topic that was posted while I was gone for a while and am still in the process of touching base on older posts. The MUT bits solve the issue if reach is your only issue. The shoulders of both the standard and MUT bits get in the way when dealing with narrow clearances. This is exactly why I came up with my own driver bits to solve this issue. I found that most of the deep, recessed fasteners that I needed extended reach for, also required a more narrow driver as well.
