Hello all, I just bought a MP400 off this forum and it's got a combo edge Wharncliffe shaped blade.  Most of the web pictures I can find show a combo normal style blade, but some recent pics do show the Wharncliffe style combo blade.  When did they change them over?  Are they all  Wharncliffe now?  I don't really mind it, just wondered if anyone knows.  Any info appreciated.

We first started seeing the 400's equipped with Wharncliffe blades around 2007 or so. As far as I know, all the newly built ones since then have been made that way. :salute:

........... it's no good! I have to ask!  Why have you got another one on the way so soon after you got rid of the last?  :ahhh

Ah, that feels better.

Sellers regret, probably.  I know I've felt that way /many/ times over. :/ :D

Ah, yes, probably.  I have a very simple solution to sellers regret though.  I almost never sell anything. ;)

Well the reason I sold it ( to a friend locally ) is because I was so dissapointed in the scissors . But I did miss the tool and after reading a bit about other peoples experience with the scissorss I thought maybe these were just blunt and under peforming . Well the new tool arrived this morning and the scissore are spot on . I've had a good look all over the tool and theres no defects at all  :D There was however a black paste like substance all round the joints on the plier head . I think maybe this is a grinding or polishing past , I've seen it before on other new Gerbers and mybe its the same kind of thing as the black stuff that often comes out of new Leatherman plier pivots .
The blade to had a burr on it that we keep hearing about but after a couple of minutes on the sharpmaker I had a wicked edge . Factory grind was good as well .
