untight tool - loosen the loctite
on: February 24, 2011, 09:38:15 PM
Hi m8's,

As this place is filled with experts, I shall once again use this pool of knowledge! I've been seen some threads about untight MTs and how one can fix it. I guess it would be nice to post some experiences about the theme, but the main interest is to talk about ways to loosen the loctite and if it affects the heat threatment or anything else. And, therefore, ways to reapply the loctite etc. :tu:

(would anyone be so kind to review my english, so I can be clearer?!) :salute:

Just use some heat a blowdryer or heat gun will work.

I think Alcohol, Tabacco and Firearms should be a convenience store, not a government agency.

I hold it over a candle . It needs to get to about 700c I think . You wont damge the heat treatment using a candle . Others have said about using boiling water or a soldering iron but I havn't used them myself .

The only problem I see with that is theres more chance of marking the screw heads using the extra force , and theres always the chance one could shear off  :o
