Pics of my "new" toy.
on: February 27, 2011, 08:36:02 PM
After a little dedicated local searching, I found something to replace my venerable North Eagles.  Found me a nice 1984 British field issue CWC infantry watch.  Dug it up for ~$50 because the original ESA movement was well-fried and there was little bit of lume loss on the minute hand, but I had an extra ETA movement that functions essentially as a drop-in replacement.  Did the work myself, not difficult.  Works and keeps time real nice now, haven't decided about repainting the lume.  It does have some character as it is.

Pictures!

Face of the watch, good shape.  The band is the original nylon, but it probably needs to be replaced soon as well.

And the back.

Beautiful.  I love the clean lines of these.  I'd leave the lume as is, I agree it gives it some character.
