Two new knives today!
on:
November 25, 2007, 05:36:22 AM
Today I went out and bought myself two new knives today. I got a Sog Trident and a Bi-Polar! They are both two amazing folders. I am very impressed by the quality of both of them!

Which Trident did you get? Mine is tiger-striped.
The Trident is one of my favorites. I would carry it everyday, if it weren't so big!
I carry my Twitch II currently.
The Bi-Polar also looks very nice, and I would definately get one if I were a police officer, etc., but I'm not. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea, I would just rather spend my money on SOGs that are more useful for me.
Congratulations on your new buys! I trust you'll find the SOG craftsmanship to be quite superb.

The one with the black TiNi coating. I wish I would have gotten the tanto blade, but I didn't

Where did you get the Bi-polar? I have been waiting for that one for some time now. Let me know because I want one.

Must be a great gun store for them to carry that model before any of the online places have it. Cool.

I have a Topo Meridian in the mail.
I think it is so cool-looking. Especially the handle!

I have a Bi_Polar as well, it's a pretty sweet knife. Not use to the double lock back but it's very strong. The V-Cutter is much more usefull in this larger version than they have on the S62 Powerlock.

Sorry for the crappy pics, its early morning and I don't have any amount of natural light to get decent pics. Sometimes I think about getting a light box.

Those pics are not that bad. How do you like the Bi-polar overall?

I like it, had a nice blade shape and fits your hand well. The handle is rather nice and the texture on it gives you a better purchase in wet conditions. The V-Cutter is better than that on the powerlock, lots bigger and the blades are replaceable, they are exchanged via phillips heads. Both blades are SAT assisted and have a strong kick to them. Even with the locking system disengaged it taked a bit of push to get them in motion (sometimes hurts my thumb a little). The locking system (dual lockback with safteys) is the first I have ever seen of it's kind, they are really strong and zero play. I wish they were a little easier to unlock, I have to push waaaaay down to unlock the blades, course this is a good saftey precauction as well.
The blades like on the couple of SOG SAT's I have aquired have needed some adjusting on the pivot, seems SOG doesn't like thier blades to be too tight, but I don't like a lot of wiggle. Simple little allen and it fixes the problem. Only problem I have with it is the sheath, I don't like SOG's new sheaths, when drawing the knife I have to do a 1/4 turn to pull it out, if not the thumb stud catches on the lip of the stitching. Haven't had time to try out the built in window breaker, and like the Delta, I hope I don't ever have to use it
Overall it's a fanastic package and offers alot, It is growing on me more every day. And BTW the cross hairs in the "O" on SOG does indeed glow in the dark, havn't taken a pic of it yet but someone on the SOG forum on BF orKF talked about thier SOG Autos and took one, looks sweet. course the runtime is not as good as stayglow
.....still gotta get me something in stayglow, maybe a climber??

Yes, on mine the V-Cutter lock on it is quite a pain to unlock. Other than that I am very impressed..

KNife outlet is advertising that the bi-polar has a pocket clip. I dont think that it had a pocket clip so I will ask the expert, the only guy I know that has one. Does it have a pocket clip?
