SOG Pocket PowerPlier S44 with pocket clip MOD
on: January 10, 2009, 11:41:26 PM

A lot easier than the Swisstool Spirit, on the PPP's all you have to do is clip off the back of a LM clip . remove the hex screw, slide the pocketclip on and reinstall the hex screw. DONE
Why do I carry a 45 ?

That looks pretty neat. I might give that one a go when my Pocketplier arrives!

I loke it. Do you get a lot of wiggle out of it? or is it tight?

I like it. Do you get a lot of wiggle out of it? or is it tight?
No free play at all, you cut the clip off so it rests against one of the square sides of the hex screw , tighten it from the other side of the tool and the clip stays in place, no wiggle at all.

Looks great. I did the same thing with a Leatherman Skeletool clip. It rotated to easily though. I had to put a spot of weld to keep it from swiveling. Yours is nicely done!

Say, why is it that no plier-multitool maker except Leatherman offers a pocket clip model? >:(
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

I don't know why others don't offer clips. I never use a sheath so I'm always welding or screwing a clip on my multitools. It reduces resale so I'm stuck with allthese tool that you can tell I welded a clip to it at one time. It's just ridiculous!

I would love to see a toolclip again. It was a tool I always kicked myself for not getting.

A couple of non-leatherman tools have pocket clips now.  Gerber Octane and Crucial come to mind. :tu:
