Thanks guys, I feel teh luv :-)

@MultiMat: haha crazy as all ppl from the land of Oz :-) will come overthere sooner or later
For the multi: as a sale reps I am not used to fix stuf and such.. this is the main problem: I don't really have a use for it BUT when you find what to use a multi for and you don't have it with you yer screwd.. the most common task I have done in the past are some screwdirving (it is a screwdriver right? so I guess a screwdriving can be done.. even if usually i drive a Peugeot.. meh..) cutting some electrical wire, a few time cut some metal wire to fasten stuff, open box, cut some plastic cover and stuff like that, very simple.

Right now I guess that a Leatherman Wave with the accessory bitdriver and a Spyderco T01PS will seems to me a good combo to take care of everything that can come my way here in Italy in an every-day office/customer life.

This is the reason I have never bought a multi.. saw the first SOG para tool back in the '90 when i was in the US for a student exchange program.. always wondered to buy one.. never had the real needs to.. now I am building an EDC setup, I already have some edged tools (I collect modern fighting knives) so I am "done" on that side, I need help on the multi sidee tough..

Also in my entropy driven mind I guessed tat, as soon as I will have my multi(s) I will put them in use so the more experience I will pack the more I will see if I need something else to complement the multi(s) or to switch to a different one.

Sorry if I sound dumb but when we talk of edged fight I can say something more educated.. not in this field :-)

c ya later

Cris

A Wave would make a fine 'first' multi  :D :D. The one handed opening blades , saw, scissors & LM's terrific diamond file are all great features  8) 8) 8) 8).

Good luck choosing a multi mate & good luck keeping it too one  :ahhh :ahhh :D :D :D :D :D

Welcome!

The Wave/Charge is a formidable Multitool.  It will set a high standard for all other multitools to meet. :ahhh

But then again, the trying is half the fun.  ;)

(I think a Leatherman Wave is an excellent choice).

Always good to see a neighbour here  :D

Greetings from Austria to the South!

@Woz: Hello mate!! Austria is very close, and a wonderful nation!! Been there a few time for vacation

@AHB: Hehe I saw a few Italian around here but I guess we are not very common..

Talking of multi:
I developed, in the past, a "strong" love for SOG: the two masterpiece of my knives collection are SOG: the Seal 2000 (modern day bowie knife strong in battle very useful for field duty not to mention a quite intimidating look) and a X-52 Recon (this is an outstanding edged weapon, very powerful cutting power and devastating penetration).
Also, as I mentioned above, the ParaTool was the first multi I saw and Para, as a stripped down of Semper Paratus, is latin and part of my heritage (I am totally latin more than J.LO.. LOL) but, every time I handle one of the SOG multi.. there is something that.. well I feel like something is missing: take the fact that I cannot open the blade and stuff with only one hand.. it make it less practical then a Leatherman.. so for now I will move toward Leatherman or the Leatherman/Spyderco combo..
The above statement means that in the next few week I will buy a Leatherman, then a Spyderco, immediatelly after I will buy a SOG then another Leatherman.. untill I will be forced to eat multitool because money for food will be gone.. I am doomed I know

LOL Sardauker.. I already suffer of compulsive shopping (it is the feamale part of me that sometime take over).. now the EDC side of this will kill my bank account.. meh..
On Monday I was in Brescia, for the EXA show.. when I left home for the 90 min travel to the expo, I started to self-induce myself not to buy anything.. at 60 minutes away from the expo I decided to spend no more than 50eu for some stuff (exotac match container and some paracord I needed) then when parking I decided to buy a decent flashlight to carry in my EDC setup, then, upon entrance, I decided to buy also a smaller flashlight to be kept in my EDC organizer as a back-up of the bigger one.. see I am doomed.
Now I am waiting for my trusted supplier to re-stock on the Leatherman Wave (lucky enough for my bank account he sold a few at the fair and he is now out of stock), I have already reserved the bit extender for it.. another supplier will let me try a few folding knife for EDC, I am going to give CRKT a try: m16 or m21 I am gonna carry around those 2 for a cuople of day to see how they "feel" and then I will buy one.
And this is just the beginning.. on second half of May I will receive a Hazard 4 Messenger of Doom bag that will be my main EDC carrier, on it there will be my actual Maxpedition EDC pocket organizer with all the tool in it, a Maxpedition surgical glove pouch with a small first aid kit in it (credits for this goes to edcforums's mtwarden), a Maxpedition coccon with my big flashlight (a Fenix TK 15) and mechanix gloves in it [all this stuff will be hidden under the flap that make this bag look like a normal messenger bag) and a Maxpedition 10X4 bottle carrier on the side with 1lt naglene bottle in it ans some snack on the front puch..

LOL.. I am a maniac.. as a sales rapresentative and a project manager I am used to plan, check, review, rearrange/adapt to achive a given result.. I am doing exactelly this for my EDC stuff.. meh..

Note that the above is "only" for the stuff I will have on me every moment of the day but under the shower.. in the trunk of the car there will be a pelican case big enough to accomodate a Maxpedition FR-1 puch with a full flagged first aid kit, a pair of maxpedition 5X7X4 pouch with a complete survival kit in it, some MRE and water.. if I get struck in a SHTF scenario and I am far from home, i will dump the MOD main compartment stuff into the car (I will use the bag also to carry around stuff when visiting customer) and load it with the survival and first-aid big kit, this will make it a Get-Home-Bag and not "only" an EDC bag.

Now please cricticize my plan, suggest all what you consider important to be added to this and, if the moderator think it is appropriate, I can create a new tread about my plan and move this message there as an opening messages, not to engulf(sp) tihs thread with disscussion that not belong to it.

Ciao for now

Cris

EDIT: ohh I forgot I have a very strong, terrible, addiction to Titanium, everything that has titanium in it fascinates me pretty badly.. in the EDC, multitool and knives/survival industry this is becoming a distinction mark form "standard" to high level gear.. hope you all will suggest me where to find and what addition to make at my setup with a lot of Ti in it.. I always keep an eye on Atwood stuff.. sadly they are always sold out.. meh..
