I'm certainly not a royalist, but I find these things interesting from a historical point of view. I remember sitting on the street outside someone's house in 1981 as a kid, watching Chas & Di go through the same thing.... I wish these too more luck than they had

The big differences (at least to a COMPLETE outsider) are:

1.  William actually was allowed to marry who he wanted (not the least objectionable from the approved list)
2.  They're essentially the same age
3.  William seems more real world and less out in the Tulips (--ie Charles).
4.  Kate seems more astute as to what she's buying into.

On another note:  I heard William received a personalized Ducati as a wedding present.  Gotta like that!

Well it just so happens that on the way to my wedding he became instrumental in the relief of the siege of Pluto's third largest city, Enzostopple.  having successfully sent the dastardly Martians packing he returned back to Earth by way of Vulcan's volcano where he helped the natives rediscover the secrets of fire, smelting iron and the open sandwich.  he also found the time to knock off a painting of an C18th Austrian Grenadier Guard as a wedding present to myself and my wife, rewrite the complete works of Shakespeare (with better spelling and grammar) and sculpt some arms for the Venus de Milo.  I can attest to at least part of this as being true.
