My Collection
on: June 12, 2011, 05:23:41 PM
Started collecting a few months ago and it quickly got a bit out of control.
I also made a frame to hold/display them.

Nice! :tu:

I was planning on doing something with magnets. Was that what you used for the display case?
You have the right tool... but do you know how to use it the right way?

Inspired, i'm a strong believer in tools as art.

Does anyone know what the standard stainless steel leatherman use for its frames, jaws and fixtures is?  can't be one of the 300 series as they're not magnetic enough. I suspect its a 400 series alloy, is it 420 throughout?
Pictures of most of my work can be found on my Facebook Page.
Also have a look at my Shapeways Shop and SW Torch Shop for 3D printed items.

Thanks everyone! I really wanted to put these LMs on display because I think they are truly a work of art.
I bought the frame from a local home goods store and the magnet strip is from Harbor Freight.

I'm looking at some newer LMs hence my two most recent purchases, crunch and wave.

Very nice collection, it's not out of control until you run out of wall space :)

I love that Google Wave for some reason.

The magnetic strips are a really good idea.  :tu: Not only do you get to see your collection displayed, but you get the opportunity to handle them regularly, for dusting purposes, without your spouse saying "Why are you always playing with your tools?"

I may have to do this too, or something similar...
