I have just ordered my first Spyderco knife the Bug
it’s a very large knife so will probably not be UK legal  :D

Now that's a BIG knife! Smallest I think I have is a 7/8 inch closed Rough Rider (small to the point to where it just seems like a typical large lockback in a GI Joe figure's hands), but I lost it, for about the umpteenth time, go figure.   Thinking the Bug would be a bit more reasonable for actual use, seems hardly smaller (which themselves are about 1/2" smaller than the Classic) than the little celluloid scaled knives companies gave away in the 1950s and 1960s.

[. Just need to keep an eye out for spare heads now, which I see periodically.

You should be able to find a regular Needle-Nose plier head for an MP650 fairly easily, while the Cable Cutter and Technician (fisherman) heads are usually a bit harder to find ( but they do turn up very now and then).  All of these were sold separately as spare parts by Gerber so are usually findable (with some effort).  I found some from Germany a while back.

Part numbers for MP650 heads that I know of are:

Regular Needle-Nose plier head: 48273 (blister pack)

Blunt-Nose plier head:  48274 (blister pack) , 08274 (box)

Cable Cutter head: 48275 (blister pack) , 08275 (box)

Technician (fisherman) head: 48281 (blister pack)

However, the CC Needle-Nose plier head is extremely hard to find as it was only ever sold as part of the full military kit (and ditto the large sheath).  I've never seen either for sale separately, only as part of the full kit (and these full kits seem to command very high prices nowadays).

LM Micra "Brandon Roy"
Gerber MP600 FPR NN grey locking tabs
LM JPST v4 (hollow rivets)
LM Squirt S4 with P4 scales (factory error)  red
Stanley Watch/Screwdriver WW2 floating mine style (crazy thing !)
LM PST "Leatherman" only pliers (no "USA")
early Gerber "Mr Pinchy" v1.?
Gerber Mr Pinchy v1.1
SOG Powerlock TIGER STRIPE (very rare)
Sheffield "crocodile" straight jaws (uncommon)
Gerber MP600 Trailrider (rare)

It is irritating when sellers don't send exactly what was agreed on.   >:(

Unless it turns out to be different better !  Unfortunately in my experience it is mostly different worse.

Many thanks for the information, gregozedobe!
I'd be happy with just the BN(which is on the way) and NN heads. But, will keep an eye out for the rare ones if the price is right(the cable cutter is enticing too). The tool on its' way isn't NIB(but is in good condition), but should suffice as a general example of an MP650. That makes two(out of five) grail tools crossed off of the list. :woohoo:

Expanding my selection of small, watch-pocket (or coin-pocket as the new timers call it) sized knives is something I plan to do in 2018.

Mikov Fish Knife (3" closed, should be a decent size). Traditionally, it apparently is the first knife given to Czech boys. It was $7, and I had a $5 Amazon gift card, making it $2.

Nice finds!  Your scores consistently amaze me.  Those darn Tiger Stripe SOGS must require a hunting permit because I never see them until after they're bagged!  I believe there should be a bag limit!  >:D

Thanks  :salute:

That is it for any big hauls for me, that was my last lot.   My US forwarding agent has called it a day, and my collecting urges have calmed right down lately.

As far as SOG Tiger Stripe bag limits go it would be difficult to exceed even a low limit, as they come up for sale so rarely.  That was only my second, and I've been looking for years.  I know the MTs were a special limited run for one retailer, and I don't think they sold many.

The 600FPR, hollow rivet JPST, and trailrider are quite awesome. All are cool, but the Trailrider is fantastic. Can't wait to see pictures.  :)
