Got back in the Emerson game .
on: July 08, 2011, 01:54:00 PM
Got a great deal on a minty Super 7 ( the larger brother of the CQC7 ) . The first Emerson I've owned since 05 ( back in the days of the evil ceramic coatings ) , the action and lockup are superb , the beast waves open like a dream . I'm digging the stonewash and serrations .

Carry one an you get the idea why they're famous in all the worst places .

I'll try to get pics up ASAP .

Chris

Another one of the squad ! the leather thingie is an "Arse protector " , most often used for nasty , pointy tools .

Very nice knives there.  I just picked up a CQC7B in Stonewash last week.  Ever since seeing
that finish come out I've wanted to pick something up in it and finally got around too. Mine
is the standard size though without the wave.

I can take or leave the wave , nice to have , but I can't see using it very often , scares the Doo out of the Sheeple . The thumb disk works very well for my modest applications .

Nice, I've always wanted to try an emerson, but never found a good price, the regular retail is way too much for me.

I own a ton of folders and fixed blades in a variety of flavors, but no Emerson.  They have always flown below my radar for some reason, but if I ever find some cash laying around that I don't know what to do with, I may give one a try.  Seems to be a love-hate thing going on with them.  Either you love the bad boy utility, or find fit and finish to be lacking for the price.  I'd like to see for myself some time.

Mr. Emerson is quite upfront on F/F , he puts it where it's a functional need , doesn't worry too much about it in other spots . Kinda like the F/F on my Kline 2000 series linesman's pliers . Works for me .

They cut like Kentucky Stink , he sells all he can make , doesn't advertise - gotta be doing something right .

If ya wan't an emerson at a good price , try the Cove over on the USN .

They aren't for everyone , but I missed mine .
