Spending too much time with the ST300
on: July 07, 2011, 08:32:14 PM
Yep, it's true. It's calling to me to try carrying it around. Which means that I'll need a second one for a back-up. Because, you know, what would happen if I got use to it and it broke (God forbid) :ahhh

Oh well, think I'll go order that back-up. (already have some replacement cutters on the way...) :multi:

I own 3 ST300's.  Its ok.  Really.  Plus, they can be found for half as much as the more spendy flavors.

I agree. Just carry it and don't look back. :multi:

You know what it is PN, and Randy, I've been a Core freak since they came out. But last time I sent one in for repair it got replaced by a new ST300. Which is cool, I was meaning to get one anyway someday.

I've been playing with it, and seeing if I can get a "feel for it". Also toying with idea of it eventually replace the Core in my ECD, but nothing too serious. And then today I was commenting over in SuzukiGS750EZ's Which tool for the job? thread, and started thinking that it might be a little better suited for the environment I work in.

So I figure that I at least have to give it a fair try, just worried that if I like it too much, this is going to end up being the first in a long line of ST300 purchases...

I also have a ST300 amongst a few multitools. I think the tool is a very strong and capable tool. What I like about Leatherman is the excellent finish and warranty. I have recently bought a multitool of a similar size but more expensive. Although the pliers have more torque, but not the harder replacable cutters, the other tools on the multitool are just smaller and not as big / strong / quality of the ST300.

I have wasted my money.

On the ST300 you will never look back as it is still one of the best tools of Leatherman. meant for farmers and where the tool will be exposed to harder work load than some of the other models.

Johan
