Wow...that is very scary. I wouldn't have imagined they got THAT big...

EDIT: There is even a larger Croc called Barabas that is a half meter longer then Brutus in the same area.

 :rofl: TBH dan you hardly ever see a snake in the uk, the one i found the other week for the dorset trust was the first snake ive ever seen, although ive seen a few slow worms  :D

5.5m= 18 feet for anyone wondering....

I was lucky enough to get to see a 14 foot gator up close in Orlando a few years ago, thanks to Multitool.org member Johnny, who also happened to be a gator wrestler at Gatorland.



His name is Chester, and he was massive.  He wasn't the largest one there, but since he didn't play nicely with others, he was in his own pen.  You can see the original thread here:

While he may have been only 14 feet long, he was more than impressive enough for me!  While sitting next to these creatures you get to thinking that these predators have achieved evolutionary perfection before there were even mammals, let alone humans, meaning this is the most efficient killer you are likely to ever be that close to!  About the only more successful killing machine on the planet is the Great White, but they can't drag you off a beach like Chester here could!

I totally agree with JZM, in Australia everything is big, bad and dangerous.

that is definitily scary. I live in a place where the most dangerous animal is the hogwart and even so they rather run than attack, I wonder how much I would be able to survive in the outback?
