You ain't kidding, it's a freakin' scortching outside right now.......my local is saying it's currently 97 °F with a heat index of 117 °F and we are sitting at 59% humidity. It's unbearable out there right now. I can't wait for Winter to roll in!

It's hot and humid here in the Ozarks. But then again it's Summer and it tends to do that.

Is that a geographical or anatomical reference?  :P

yeah, it's smurfing raining here and has been for a couple of weeks now so you can send some of that sun over here.

I well know the UK's reputation for rain but we do normally have some nice weather. :-\

Tomorrow, Toronto is going to feel like 50 celcius with the humidity... that's 122 degrees Fahrenheit!

Gareth, I wish it would rain here.  Haven't had a good dose of rain in awhile...

Well I got home, had a cold shower, a tasty cold meal. Sitting in front of the fan with some sweet tea, and a cheap cigar. I feel a lot better. :)
Still dreading the idea of tomorrow :(

Yeah, has been uncharacteristically hot in Northern Ontario. We aren't used to these mid 40 with humidity temperatures. Has been like this for a week or more, and yes, with rain that doesn't seem to cool anything off other then increase the humidity.

Last year, I bought a counter top ice machine. Never used it much until this heat wave. Now I can't get enough ice drinks. It is what has allowed me to survive these temperatures.

Ah well, this Friday, I have a local company coming to tell me how much central AC will be. With weather like this, business must be brisk.

I'm actually ready for winter now.  I miss the snow.  I WANT the snow.

I feel for you guys our last summer was a scorcher, with high 30's to low 40's for weeks on end with 90 odd humidity, not nice! Our winter started with some nice rain for about 3 weeks but now its all dried up again,at least the temperature is more bearable, low 20's.
Rest is not idleness,
and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day,
listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky,
is by no means a waste of time

Well there was a steady wind of 10mph (16kph) today, and while there isn't much circulation in my corner of the shop, it really helped break the humidity.
Making the day barley tolerable, instead of "Why am I in hell?"

Tonight it's going down to 64 (17), and with the same wind it's going to be wonderful  :D

11 PM and it's still freaking hot - 38C/100F with the humidity.

We had a cold supper tonight....no way I was going outside to BBQ today.

We don't have central air, so are relying on numerous fans and a single portable air conditioner to keep is comfortable (it's not working :( )

Improvise AC with a tray of iced water in front of a fan.  It's not great but it helps a little. :)

It's actually not too bad if you are out of direct sunshine. Where I used to live it gets to 42/107 actual temperature, and humidity is always around 80 to 100 in summer.

It's 17°C today which is cold for a summer in the Netherlands.

I'll be in Ontario & Quebec in a couple of weeks, let's hope the unbearable heat over there will be gone by then :)

For the first time in far to long we've actually had a nice, sunny and warm weekend with temperatures of about 21degC (70degF).  Perfect summer weather IMO. :)

The funny thing is, with all the media hoopla about "The record breaking heat dome"  :ahhh, only 34 out of 6000 all-time daily temperature records were broken.

Got to love sensationalism...
