special sheaths sold here
on: December 09, 2007, 01:32:39 AM
I am considering getting a smallish folding knife to wear around my neck on a
lanyard and also either a Leatherman Squirt scissors or a SOG Crosscut for
girlfriend.
In both cases I will need a sheath and if these really work well from this
place I will buy two.
http://www.onscenetactical.com/

Two questions.   1. will I lose the tools if I use these sheaths and how difficult
is it to extract the tools ?
2.  The girlfriend is interested in carrying scissors on keychain and I am having hard
time choosing between Squirt and Crosscut.  Cost is no object, just want the
easiest to use and least likely to ever break.  Might lean a bit to one if
it has a stronger or better knife blade.

Thanks for any feedback in advance

Eric from On Scene Tactical has a great reputation here. His kydex rigs have quite a following. I've got two; one for a Leatherman Micra and one for a Crunch. In both instances, there is absolutely no worry about the tool coming out accidentally.

For quick and easy access, nothing is better.  :)

(only downside is exposure. There is not as much protection for your tool if you work in dirty/dusty environments)
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

Eric is one of the best! You won't go wrong with On Scene T! I have many friends with their custom work and they really luv em!
Talk to them, give them all your details and let them know what your going to use them for, and you'll be a happy camper!
don't forget to show us pictures when you get them :)
judge others by how they treat those they are allowed to mistreat

Here are links to a few reviews I wrote about the SAK sheaths:

There may be more, but I can't remember.  I've been dealing with Eric for so long now, and I have quite a few of his rigs that it's hard to remember each and every one of them!

Here's the Crunch one:

All in all, he does fine work and if you are interested in kydex, he's the man to talk to.  He's been doing it longer than just about anyone, and most of the other guys learned how to do it from him.
