Luminox rubber watch band question
on: July 27, 2011, 10:19:44 PM
 :salute:

I'm  for a blackout Luminox and wonder if these rubber watch bands are not too hot, especially in hot summer days...

Any idea ?

I've never had that problem.  I did replace the band on my Luminox with a silicone diver band and extension clasp because the old band was too large and inflexible for my wrist, though, even after shaping.

Ive been using a metal bracelet on my diver so far this summer as always find rubber bands hot and sweaty, i wear a casio prg40 for work and sweat a lot as hot at work si notice its worst with a rubber strap, natos as ryan said are another option and silicone as also mentioned although i also find them hot, i changed to metal as also looks like the urticaria alergy i have is made worst by rubber so i might end up selling my trusty prg40 soon or change the strap to a canvas prg40 strap, i find though most straps make your wrist hot in the summer but so far ive oddly found my SS bracelet the best so far this summer,

The only problem I have is when I am sweating like mad but I have found out that if I just loosen the strap a little it won't bother me that much.
There is no problem that cannot be solved by the use of high explosives.

Well,  thank you for the answers.

NATO strap is indeed an option, and should bring a good look to the watch.

This said, I don't know anymore if I want to go with this brand. I'm afraid the plastic case will scratch easily, and don't want a scratched watch. I know some G-shocks lovers see in these scratches the history of their watch, but I want a good looking watch even for dressed up occasions. Lum-Tec could be the solution, but they're pricey :(

there a nice watch, possibly you just had a faulty spring bar or it wasnt fitted properly, ive never had a issue with HD spring bars and fitting a nato means if one bar fails the other bar saves the watch,  :tu: hope your new watch works out  :tu:

Thanks for the update! I appreciate it

Unfortunatly, after lurking on watch forums since my post, I have to say that this is not the first time I read quality issue with this brand. And as you pointed it out, for a military oriented brand... it really look bad.

I will not go with a Luminox ::)  Lum-Tec watches look very nice. They have an upcoming model... B.O., really
