Next month at the Halifax Metro Center, tickets go on sale tomorrow morning and I'll be there to get them!

Ozzy?  I'd be willing to bet that will be a cool show.  Personally, I have never attended any concert.  I guess that I have no life. :)

Well the concert was almost completely sold out by the time I got there, which was about half an hour after they went on sale!  I got some decent seats, not quite in the nosebleeds, but pretty darned close.  The good news is I should have a pretty good view of the stage, albeit from a fair distance.  The good news is it looks like I'll be able to bring my camera and with a pretty good zoom lense I should have some decent shots to show afterwards!

Here's the seating chart:

I am in section 37 which is on the top left.  The only other seats available were in sections 41, 42 and 31 which would have gotten me closer, but watching a concert from the side or behind sucks.  Some of the folks I work with camped out overnight to get tickets and were second in line, and still only got the upper bowl (blue sections) like I did.  Folks who ordered online must have snagged most of the good seats.  That's why I don't bother to camp out these days.  Better to brew a strong pot of coffee and sit by your computer if you are that desperate!

Just for a lark I looked on eBay and this is what I found:

I'd say your seats were quite good. I'd imagine your higher up and about as in front as you can be on that level.

Wish I was going.

Well at this point it's debatable as to whether you'd spend more on the tickets or the plane fare to come over to see it! :D

I should have a good angle to see the show from there.  I don't mind being at the "back" of the stadium as you get to see the show.  I remember as a kid I used to try desperately to get up front (was front row for Iron Maiden and Anthrax in the early 90's) and a few other big shows, but you don't see a thing when you are right there.  When Maiden took to the stage all I got to see was Janick Gers, who was at the time the "new guy" who I really didn't care about.  Steve Harris, Bruce Dickinson and Dave Murray were the guys I wanted to see and they weren't terribly close to me at any point during the show.  It was a good show, but I'll bet it would have been better had I been a bit farther back to see it!

I was standing in the front row at a Slipknot gig once and I said that I would never do it again.  Apart from constantly being crushed from the crowd behind, I could hardly see anything anyway.

Yeah I got hit pretty hard at Iron Maiden as well.  I had a good time, but it would have been better if I could have seen the whole thing.  Plus I am too old and lazy to get into mosh pits these days! I did the mosh pit at a Slayer concert a couple of years ago and I doubt I'll be doing it again any time soon!

I'd love to see Slayer as well.  One of the best one's I went to was Drowning Pool, great gig that was.  Mind you saying that when I saw Slipknot they were supported by Inflames and American Head Charge which was great.  VERY rough crowd though.

Slayer was a great show- it was a month or two before Diamond Darrel was murdered, and DamagePlan opened the show.  I was never a big Pantera fan, but I liked Damageplan.  Too bad I started to like the guy just before he was gunned down!

Tom Araya looked like he was about to doze off through the show... or like he didn't really want to be there.  It was a bit disappointing that he was just going through the motions, but it was still a pretty good show overall.

Damageplan supported Drowning Pool when I saw them!  And they were real good.  They did a cover of Pantera's "Walk" and it was soooooo heavy it was unreal.
