No problem at all. Is it worth the trouble to break down that Pulse for parts for projects?

The other implements and plier head are in good condition- other than the blade, the lock and the interesting weld job, the only thing wrong is the small eyeglass screwdriver is snapped off, but could probably be ground down again to be functional.  Good enough for an EDC anyway.

If the seller and I can come to some agreement, I will probably send the tool back.  My issue now is I paid for this tool to be shipped to me, and I bloody well am not paying shipping both ways.

Good morning Defender, I hope I can make your day. I'm new here so please forgive my lack of knowledge about how the Forum really works.

I have a Pulse that I have had for years, it's yours if you want it. Price "FREE". This Pulse has never been used, it has the original unused leather sheath, even the original box (slightly worn from storage, moving, etc.) with the folded pamphlets inside.

Consider it a Christmas gift of sorts or you can give a little donation to help support this Forum.

It's not that I don't like the tool, but after reading this Forum for a while (and your bad experience with the one you just bought) I just think you deserve to have it more than I do. I have plenty of other multitools and SAK's to keep me happy!

As I mentioned I'm new here so I don't know how the PM's (or icons, pictures, etc.) work but contact me, I'm ready to send you your unused but "NEW" Pulse right away.

Benner, sorry about your swisstool, and I don't mean to sound cruel, but I got a good chuckle out of that.

micky d, I have a ton of stuff. I'm at work now (on overtime) so I don't have a lot of time to post right now but later I'll make a list of my toys (flashlights-over 75, knives, multitools, all kinds of EDC stuff).

Thanks for the kind comments about my offer, but I'm really a horrible person and need to do something kind every now and then.

Calvin

P.S. I have so much stuff I think another give-away for Christmas is a great idea. Anybody have any thoughts on how to do this (contest, etc.). I insist on paying for shipping also.

dunc5, I live just outside Mineral, Virginia, U.S. (a very small town, right in the middle of the Richmond, Fredericksburg, Charlottesville triangle, about an hour from each).

My favorite multitool is (was) one of the original SOG's. I think it was called the Powerplier. I say was because I can't find it and I just bought a Victorinox Spirit and 2 Leatherman (Ti, XTi). I am now testing these.

Hey, tell me, I feel like I'm hijacking Defender's thread. Should I start a new thread about my toys and the give-away?

Kreskin- that is a very generous offer and I appreciate it greatly.

For the moment though I am going to hold off, at least until I find out what is going on with this one.  I still haven't heard back from the seller about whether or not they will refund my shipping costs.  I do not want to be responsible for shipping both ways for a tool I can't even have.   >:(

By the way, the Massage thing- if you look at the menu bar across the top of the forum, just under the Auction Ads bar you'll see "Home, Help, Search, Profile, My Message etc."  Clicking on the "My Messages" part will allow you to view your messages and send messages as well.

If you want to send something directly to a person you can click on their name in a thread like this one and along the bottom you see a link that says something like "Send a Private Message To This User."  Click on that and it's just like sending an email.

One important thing to remember is when someone sends you a message, you get an email notification saying you have a message waiting on the site.  Delete that email, log into the site and respond.  If you respond to the email, you are responding to the site, not to the person who sent you a message.

Picture info is in the FAQ section, which is in the main index.  We moved all that stuff around recently, so I can't remember exactly where it is, but I think it's just below the "Tool Talk" section.

Defender, I wouldn't waste anymore time with that guy. You could keep the one you got from him to use for parts. If I give you mine it would be like getting 2 for the price of 1. Trust me, you will NOT be disappointed with mine.

There is a lot of wisdom in what you say, and on the surface, I agree with you, but I'm not ready to give up yet.

If I send it back to this guy, there's the good possibility we'll be having this thread all over again in a month with another member!  I'd like to get the mess sorted out if for no other reason than my sanity.  Whether it'll be good for my sanity or bad is another story entirely! :D

Make no mistake though, I really do appreciate the offer.  That's pretty darned good of you!

I think I know what the give-away will be! I couldn't find what I was looking for so instead I'm going to put together a nice little package of goodies (can anyone spell GAK).

I'm at work now but when I get home later I will start a new thread over in General Tools, titled "Holiday Give Away".

I will post a list of the things in the package but I would still like some ideas on HOW to give this away.

Well I have sent two messages off to the seller now asking about refunding the shipping charges and I still haven't got a response, so I am taking that as a heartfelt "piss off" from him.  I think the bad feedback train is scheduled to arrive very shortly.  Meanwhile, I am going to have to pursue other avenues.

I will keep everyone informed.

That is pretty crappy that people do things like that.  I hope that they and people like them get what is coming to them (fall asleep while driving, bad fall, gas leak, you know bad things :))  Everyone gets what they deserve eventually. This goes for good as well as for bad.  Hope you come out on the winning end here.

None yet, or at least nothing worth mentioning.  With the holidays and the computer issue I have been somewhat distracted.

Bottom line, the seller got bad feedback from me and I am writing off any hope of the seller being useful, so feel free to add Proconnection to your "do not buy from" list.

I talked to my contact at Leatherman and they are willing to look at it, but are making no promises.  I don't blame them if they can't or won't do anything with it- as you can see from the pictures, this one is obviously user abused.

Other than maybe trying to salvage some pieces for future mods, this one is a complete write off.
