Quarter inch drive for SAKs!
on: August 24, 2011, 09:05:04 PM
I've always been fustrated by how few SAKs have Philips drivers. Its very rare at work to come across flat headed screws.I've seen other members who've done mods to fit 1/4 inch driver socket to the flat driver/caplifters on thier SAKs,but this is my lazy man variation!

Mix up enough 2 part epoxy putty to fill the driver side of the socket, and well fill it!Close to hand you should have a SAK with the driver/caplifter lubricated with vasaline(putty has difficulty gripping on to the vasaline :D),insert the caplifter firmly and quickly(this is sounding so BAD),and gently withdraw.

This should give a tight fit(once the putty is dry of course). And then you can use philips, hex and torx bits to your hearts content!

Pix will follow!

Nice idea, I thoroughly agree that it would be nice to see more SAK with cross head drivers, particularly the slimmer ones or perhaps an alox model.

Well that's nifty as hell.  :tu:

Now figure out how to store it under the scale next to the toothpick and you'll be good to go!  :D

The new Victorinox Tardis! Maybe I could squeeze a sonic screwdriver in there too.
