Mid- Michigan meet up
on: August 05, 2011, 04:34:52 AM
Anyone from the Michigan/Ohio/Indiana area interested in a meet up? :) Paul (turnsouth) and I have been talking about getting together next month, on Sunday the 11th, probably meeting up in the Frankenmuth Michigan area. :) Paul says there's even a full line Victorinox dealer there we can visit!

We'd love to have some more folks join us if you can make it :)

Should be a fun time. :tu: Nothing big, just some tool talk over a really good meal at the Bavarian Inn of Frankenmuth (awesome fried chicken, and best schnitzel in Michigan), and a visit to Bronner's, the world's largest Christmas store (320,000 square feet, yes that is three hundred twenty thousand!), where they carry the full line if Vic SAK's.

Frankenmuth itself is a town you could spend a few days exploring: Frankenmuth, Michigan's Little Bavaria

As well the Birch Run Premium Outlets (145 stores) are only a ten minute drive away.

Like Bob said, we'd love to have others join us.  :)

I have been tempted... my parents live on the other side of the lake (near Elliot Lake) and there are a few things at their place that I would like to pick up.  Things that can't be transported on a plane or through the mail.

One of these days I'll make it out there.

Yeah, I really should get that paperwork filled out and on its merry way.

As for multiple copies, I bet I would get visited by the local friendly RCMP attachment. :D

Something I was meaning to mention:

I've found that most spouses (wives, that is) find the Frankenmuth area somewhat paradisaical. So if you're looking for a weekend (or more) getaway, this would be a perfect opportunity. And with all the town has to offer, I'm sure that most spouses would be more than willing to let you have a few hours of "tool time" in exchange for a weekend in one of Michigan's most popular destinations.

Yeah that's true, Frankenmuth, wives, and credit cards just seem to naturally go together! :D :D

(that being said, my own credit card might be half-melted by the time I leave that Victorinox store!)

Even though I will not be there, one suggestion: at  the Birch Run Outlets the Case xx store has a great selection of Vic, SOG, LM, and CRTK. Not full selections but better then most places.

they also haqve Case :D
