Re: The Great Mod Give Away! 4 days left; The Janitor/Agent
Reply #121 on: September 27, 2011, 07:03:47 AM
I want to put in one more idea just because it came to me:

The Janitor/Agent
A MT maintenance and cleaning tool.

(not sure of the name, The Agent sound more convert, therefore cooler)

1. Steel Brush (both brush and spiral brush versions) (OHO of course)
2. Nylon Brush (not sure why but could be good for getting rid of dust where the steel brush is too much)
3. A spudger to push shop towel bits into crevices to get rid of dirt build up
4. brass rod, hollow end to accept halved q-tips (also for geting into those right areas)
5. brass scraper pokey thing (inside tool)
6. soft marshmallow looking thing to get in to polish areas
7. floss bobbin
8. keep mini bit driver but replace with steel blunt needed
9. dental pick/cleaner

That should take care of most of the MT cleaning needs.

Only 4 days left people.

Get those ideas in!

Alright, one more

The EMTool

1.  Replace straight blade with pry/breacher bar
2.  File removed and handle drilled out to hold a Fisher bullet space pen
3.  Saw removed, replaced with full size scissors
4.  Can opener replaced with oxygen wrench
5.  Other inside handle tools replaced with a low-power LED torch
6.  Serrated blade rounded off for emergency cutting.
7.  Handles covered in high-visibility yellow/GITD gripping rubber
8.  Carbide-tipped glass breaker add on for lanyard/clip slot

I have a super pressing project (aka, proposal, yes of the partner kind) that will prohibit me from announcing the winner of The Great Mod Give Away at Midnight on the 30th.

SO, I am moving up the announcement to NOON (Mountain Time) on Sept 30th.

You have less than 24 hours to get your concepts and ideas in!

Thinking Caps on!

The Great Mod Give Away Winner! THE PITBOSS!
Reply #126 on: September 30, 2011, 08:27:08 PM
After much deliberation and consideration, I want to formally congratulate Cleanser for this idea of The PitBoss (formerly known as Da Pit Master) - a tool for outdoor grilling.

There were several factors in this decision

1. I appealed to me greatly as I grilled food 3-4 times a week.
2. Every toll mentioned could be incorporated (even the thermo, it's not TRUELY one but you'll see)
3. I saw the potential of using a Core as the donor body for this mod, instead of a Charge.

I present the tools layout for The PitBoss:

1) meat thermometer (blade type)
2) knife
3) 2 prong fork thing for turning meat (made from saw)
4) ice pick skewer thing (the awl will do nicely)
5) a SECOND awl spaced apart to create a more aggressive fork (made from one of the med flat bits)
6) pliers used to pick up hot metal things
7) BIG removable flipper for burgers
8) serrated type of blade used for cutting bread (already there, also it's the longest SE blade available)
9) bottle opener for any drinks with your grillin (already there)
10) can opener for cream corn or beans (also there)
11) butter knife made from an actual butter knife in place of the file.
12) keep big flat bit (BBQ adjustment)
13) keep phillips driver (BBQ Adjustment)

I'll start a new thread to document the progress of this tool.

Congrats again to Cleanser!

Look forward to some of your ideas made true in the MPC MT Labs!

Congrats and good contest!

There were a lot of neat ideas in this thread, and I'm glad we were able to give one of our resident mad scientists modders some food for thought.
