  • Not all those who wander are lost.
Seen this from Hunt4Freebies on Facebook, figured we all like free tools occasionally.  Used one of these critters, 11-in-1 Stainless Steel Pocket Survival Tool, before even seeing a real multitool.

1Sale-A-Day has these for free, but you do need to register to get one. Can only get 1 per account too. Deal has a limited time duration. Have ordered a free 12V USB Vehicle charger before for free; it fits into the cigarette lighter plug and was not cheap junk.

  • What's the matter, kid? Don't ya like clowns?
Thanks for the heads up. I have one but have never used it. I find it hilarious that the retail price is $25. I think I bought mine for a few dollars. Either way we all like free stuff especially MT'S.

IIRC I got a 2 pack for a couple of dollars :D

Handy for a survival tin or in your bag. Definitely fall into the 'better than nothing' category. $25 is just plain robbery  :twak:

Found an old post of mine on these  :D

I bought a pair of these from the Farrest East when buying something else :D  Worked out at about £1 for both  :tu:

It makes me sad when I see them sold here for around £5 each  :( >:(  For the price it is solid and reasonably handy as a pry bay, screwdriver, can opener, box opener and few other things. I wouldn't want to put my life on it but handy to keep in the car  :tu:

Before you ask what Direction Ancillary Indication is here's a handy descprition :D

While it may seem implausible, you can actually create a compass by rubbing wire, paperclip or a pin through
your hair, despite the fact that your hair is not magnetic and the normal magnetizing procedure involves
rubbing metal against a magnet. To use you need to place the tool on a flat surface on the plastic sleeve
that it comes with. Place a couple drops of water in the Orientation Direction Indicator to make level with the
surface of the tool. Place the magnetized hair-rubbed wire slowly on the water or on a small leaf if it wont
float on the waters surface tension. It should slowly align north/south.

Probably best to buy a compass though  :ahhh

Love that the lanyard hole counts as a 'tool'

  • Why is it doing that?
I used to have one of these, branded by BCB (I think it's still around here somewhere...). The BCB branding was eventually just a decal the fell off after some time... :-\ As cerbera said, they're definitely in the "better than nothing" category, as they're ergonomics make it quite hard to do anything useful with them, other than popping bear caps... :D

If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?
