Apparently the model 2240 is one of the most popular .22 cal air pistol ever made from what I have read online. Seems there are a lot of people who have modified them also.

Awesome!The Crosman Rattys are so much fun to shoot!I have the 2250,day I got it I put about 300 pellets thru it!Then I started modding it....

You can do so reall cool stuff to these:Steel breechblocks,extended probe,mussel break or silencer,red dot sight,lazer....

If your so inclined, you can look around on the internet for some upgrades for that pistol.
I used to have one. That front bracket that connects the barrel to the air/spring chamber
they make in steel which holds the front end solid. The only complaint I had with my gun
was that you could twist the barrel off kilter if bumped hard enough or by applying pressure
in a twisting motion on that bracket. Overall though a nice airgun for the price.
