Navy folders
on: September 13, 2011, 10:40:06 AM
I was  really impressed by the build quality of my Sanrenmu knife (model 710), but it was a bit small for my needs. The ideal size folder for me is Endura size so I ordered a Navy K731 and a smaller model (K728) to save on shipping.

Both knives arrived today and here they are beside my Endura and Cara Cara for size comparison. Build quality of both knives is comparable to Endura. The model K728 is a look-alike of a Native.

Here's a few pics.

Navy knives are getting better all the time.  :D
Zed, my understandig is that SRM makes some spyderco products but that Navy is a different company that makes products that, some, are similar to spyderco products.
The steel they use is advertised as 440c, so it is better than the one used by SRM and the byrd line.

Hi, you say k731 but the model in your picture says k631. Can you clear that? And how do you compare it with the spyderco?
(what a rip off, by the way!)

I am rather new to all this knife stuff.  I am wondering, can it be said in a round about way that Navy knives are a poor man's...wanna be Spyderco?  I mean you get a similar look without the price?

I'd say more that Navy is Byrd for 30% less.  Navy is a step behind SanRenMu in overall quality, not a big one though.

It's a K-631, sorry for the typo error.
