I REALLY want black torx screw heads and a black chassis when I make my ultimate ninja MT, at one point I saw someone post a possibly rare or LE black oxide Charge with camo scales. Even better if it has black scales to begin with. Where can I get one?

This ninja mt will have G10 scales...keep your eyes open for that.

help?

Cant wait to see it, sounds bitchin. How hard is it to duplicate black oxidation (black rust)? Is it a $100k machine? (no clue)

Apparently, according to some members, it's a nasty set of chemicals and heat that achieves the colour. I am going to see if there is anyone in town that does it.

I may look into Ceramkote.

I think the boys at occ did a ceramic coat on the inside of a gas tank or something. Had something to do with keeping it cool. Faint memory

Well, from every bit of information I've read, it's a pretty easy, simple process. Spray on at a certain temp (most likely warmer than room) and then let cure for 24-48 hours.

the resin will set with the ceramic particles in it. Boom, instant crazy hard blackness.

I'll see how much it is, maybe it will be worth it so i can CK some of my other tools for fun.

Cerakote from brownells is $44 per color. Also it needs to bake on. For BO stainless bolts try EPI chemicals. For a small application like bolt heads it should work well.

Hey I have some stuff here and a stainless pivot pin. Would you like me to give it try and post the results?

I don't have a dog in this hunt, but I'd like to see it.    :pok:

yes please!

I checked out hte site and there is a specific stainless steel kit, the regular kit 'won't' work on stainless...who knows! The chassis is stainless too so it would have to go under the same process.

Thanks steve!

Ok I'll give it a go. Oh wait a min. Look in the gerber thread. I posted what it would do to stainless tools there. Give it a look.
