Some New LM Goodies
on: October 17, 2011, 02:43:01 AM
Wife and I spent the weekend in Reno, NV to watch my cousin play football against the University of NV. Game didn't fare too well for New Mexico, but the rest of the time there was pretty fun! Last night was mostly dinner, then the casinos for a while. This morning, after breakfast we went to Scheels, a sporting goods and more store in Sparks, NV.

WOW!!  :gimme: :gimme:

Great store, we don't have one here in Northern California, but at a mere 3 hour drive to Reno, I may be there more often! I got some LM stuff, as well as having the opportunity to buy my wife her first Leatherman, a pink Style. I got myself a new Sidekick and a Style CS! Have a look!

Link to Scheels, if you are interested: http://www.scheelssports.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ScheelsHomeView?langId=-1&storeId=10001&catalogId=10101

Scheels is great store i always stop their when i am in Reno. It is the biggest sporting goods store i have ever seen. What did you think of the Ferris wheel  in the middle of the store. Right before Christmas they have big sales on MTs. Did you stop at Cabelas?

I think Alcohol, Tabacco and Firearms should be a convenience store, not a government agency.

The ferris wheel was neat, not every day you see one indoors! The manikins of the former Presidents was a cool touch too. Did not stop at Cabelas, I've heard that our Bass Pro shop locally in Manteca, CA is much more of an experience, so we passed on it this time through. I hope to be back before Christmas, could do some wicked Christmas shopping in there for sure!

Mike, yeah I live just down the 99 fwy in Salida, about 15 min away from Bass Pro. And Capt, its nice having a BP so close, but can also be very expensive if I visit often!

Your also lucky your local Walmart sells ammo. Mine around me don't sell ammo and Walmart has the best prices around, but its not worth driving all the way there unless im already going for something else.

Yeah the prices are good, but when you ask the girl behind the counter for 2 boxes of 12ga shells, make sure she grabs the right ones!! I was looking at goodies behind the glass when I asked her to get them for me, didn't even look to verify. What I ended up with was 2 boxes of 20ga rounds, no gun to shoot them with and a "No return on Ammo" policy at WalMart. GRR!! My boss bought me lunch in return for the boxes since he could use them.

Yea the Walmart employee's don't usually know anything about ammo. I always double check to make sure I get the right stuff. Bass Pro is fun. I haven't been there in a while and need to make a trip. If I head that way I might drop you a PM.

Walmart is going to start selling guns in CA again. Their prices are very good. I don't shoot suppository guns very much any more. I mostly shoot Black Powder cap and ball revolvers and muzzle loading rifles. When i do shoot cartridge guns i hand load my own ammo. Bass Pro Shops is cool but when you get to go there any time you want you take it for granted.

They are, but most likely only in the counties that already sell ammo. That's means i'm out of luck.
