I agree, the wave series has the potential for a little hand damage where the two handles can pinch. I've felt it a few times... Out of curiosity, how'd the screwdriver fold on you? Did the lock fail, or did you accidentially press on the lock button (which can happen pretty easily...). Or was it an original Wave?Either way, too bad you got bit... On the plus side, the blast ought to be pretty friendly.

I was really pushing down on it, and I guess I pressed on the locking mechanism, closing the driver. Since the handles were closed, the driver didn't close completely, but enough to jam into my thumband friggin give me ANOTHER blood blister. Good tool, but damn, too painful. Blast for me from now on.

I was not so much upset at the fact that it closed on me, as it was my own fault and I can live with that. What vexed me was the fact that the driver bit adaptor has pointy and sharp edges, and when it folded on me, the corner of it stabbed me in the thumb, right under the nail, causing a blood blister. Had this happened with the Blast, with it's longer drivers, it would have hit my thumb but not necessarily stabbed it. Make sense? I'm not mad about the tool failing (cause it didn't, I did). I'm mad at the sharp edges all over the Wave. Even when using the knife blades, you can't really apply too much pressure to a cut without the handles biting into your hands. I guess it's an ergonomics thing.

I lost all interest in buying a Wave after that.Same here , a few years ago I went into a shop with the money in my pocket to buy a wave ( old type ) . I was really looking forward to it but when the shop keeper handed it to me I was so dissapointed , there was so much wobble and play in the handles and when you squeezed the handles hard I could see how you could pinch your skin I came out with a Supertool 200 .I think it was a much better tool .Dunc
