I think part of the problem is that the PST isn't really old enough and hasn't been out of production long enough to really garner a huge following that is clamoring for an exotic release. Couple this with the fact that real multi-tool aficiandos with large income to drop so much on a collector's item are fairly rare and you get sluggish sales. Leatherman had to gussy up their high end models with super steels and titanium to get widespread sales at 90+ price points, I had a hard time believing many would pay 150$ for the lowly PST, despite the added features.
Part of me does wish these were sold at BassPro instead, I just found out my sister's current boyfriend works there and gets a 40% discount on everything storewide. I would pick one up in a heartbeat if it was 60$, instead I'm trying to save for some Surefire flashlights and a quite a few tools to flesh out my collection.
Didn't one of our regulars have some problems with the Gold inlaying on his model?
