after a light for my dad for christmas.
on: November 28, 2011, 07:33:28 PM
As usual i come here to seek options! haha

basically at the moment he s using a big chunky torch that takes a bulb i wanted to get him an LED one, its main use will be poking around in the garden at night i was thinking a fenix e21 but anything thats 2aa and of a similar ( or slightly cheaper) price will be good as long as its bright enough (i think it will be though)

cheers!

If it doesn't have to be a 2xAA I'd go for an E11 as that's all the light and options (high and medium) you'd really need if you were just an occational torch user http://www.heinnie.com/Flashlights/Fenix-Flashlights/Fenix-Flashlights-E11/p-97-403-6926/  :)
Give in, buy several Farmer's!!!!!!

i think a 2 aa would be better as its a bit easier to hold, as for occasional hell be out there every night dunno what he does though haha

There are a couple of new 'old stock' Fenix L2D Q5's here:

Good price for brand new Fenix lights, it's just that they are a an older model.

And you remember to ask that AFTER Black Friday. :twak:

There were discounts to up to 50% on flashlights just few days ago. :ahhh

I second Millhouse's advice, if on the verge of buying a Klarus myself. (ST10) A local electronics shop just got 10 Klarus models in stock and I like their build and output a lot.

I'd go the Sunwayman V20A

What's a simpler interface than a infinitely variable control ring?

If his primary use is going to be outdoors, then look for something with a neutral white or high CRI emitter.  It won't be quite as bright, but it will provide much better detail and and color than a standard cool tinted LED emitter.

If 2xAA is the best option, I'd suggest the Fenix LD25.
