CMG Infinity versus Gerber Infinity Ultra?

Is there any real difference between the Gerber-branded Infinity flashlights and the CMG-branded Infinities?  Not the Ultra, version, but the regular?

I'm no expert but my understanding is that CMG did the infinity and then upgraded it to the Ultra, the Ultra being notably brighter.  Gerber then only ever did their own version of the Infinity Ultra.  I seem to remember reading a piece on it, but I can't remember where. :-\

well, at the very least you'd prove that I've no idea what I'm talking about. :D

Seriously though; I'd be interested from an academic point of view, but a dimmer Infinity holds little appeal to me personally.  Not unless it was balanced out with some other great benefit.  :)

Gerber was making an exact copy of the CMG one for awhile. They came up with their version later later, from what I have read.

Ah, well the store that has them is asking full MSRP for them. :/  Still, it's interesting seeing a silver Infinity; I've only seen them in black and grey. :)

I wish I had some, actually, but I'm quite pleased with my UI-Ms so the desire is really just to compare the two and go "heh, neat." XD
