Yes very strong, and hard wearing. That is one disadvantage of making leads from paracord, they do last a long time, and customers tend not to come back for years!

 I gave a similar lead to a Police K9 handler in the US when I first started making these, to see if he could kill it in use. Out of the blue, three years later I got an email saying he had used it daily, sometimes in harsh working conditions, and it was still going strong with no damage.

I tied a herringbone knot paracord fob to attach to the pocket knife and flashlight that I'm giving to Pa for Father's Day.

Just got a tutorial for this knot. I'll try to make one and see how it works as a lanyard. From what I saw, you cut and melt the ending rope, flush with the knot, right?

The working end comes out where the loop is, so after tightening the knot up the end gets trimmed and tucked in there where it's out of sight.  ;)
