Your Collection Of Folders..
on: December 13, 2011, 06:49:27 AM
Alright So I Know Some Of Us Here Are Knife Nuts As Well. I Know I Am.

So I Was Wondering, How Many Folding Knives Do You Have?
I Don't Have a Lot At This Point In Time.
My Collection Used To Be A Lot Larger And High End And Then I Realized... I Didn't Need Super Expensive Knives And There Was No Way I Was Every Going To Do Any With That Many!

Well, I Turned To SAK's And Slip Joints. I Have About 12 Slip Joints I Think(Maybe A Few More), 24 SAK's, 8 Folding Knives, 1 Balisong, And 1 Fixed Blade.

Nothing Overly Impressive.

But I Just Love Folding Knives So I'm Interested In How Many And Which Ones Do You Guys Have?

Folding Knives:
Kershaw Rake Composite Blade - It's A Blem But You Wouldn't Know It.
Kershaw Vapor III
Kershaw Black Gulch - Limited Edition OD Green Scales And Black Bolsters - VERY USED - I Love This Thing.
Kershaw Half Ton
Meyerco Maxx-Q - All Black Bowie Blade
Meyerco Catch Dog
Gerber Hinderer Rescue - I Modified It Into PE.
Ka-Bar Dozier Folding Hunter - Black And Satin

And My Bali - Since It Folds - M-Tech Twist Gun Metal Grey.

I Hope To Get A Spyderco In My Collection In The Near Future(Have Owned Many And Want Another.. Or 20 :D)

But My Favorite Right Now Is My Rake.
~Jessie~

Um... do you mean my *entire* collection of knives or just the ones within easy reach?

Because the latter is fairly large and the former is embarassingly so.

Not sure why, but I always like to have the large and small version if available.
Here are the 'pairs' that I have so far:

Leatherman e55bx
Leatherman e33bx

SOG Flash II Black Tini
SOG Flash I Black Tini

Buck Vantage 345BKS
Buck Vantage 340BKS

And my solo members:
Benchmade Emissary 470
2 Browning cheap-o knives, very sharp and have lasted years.

I hope to add Buck 110 and 55, and Benchmade Griptilian 551 and 556 to the pairs above also :)

Pretty short (by MT.O standards...)

CRKT Folding Razel
CRKT Stubby Folding Razel
Spyderco Rescue (OLD version)
Spyderco Captain
Spyderco Honeybee
Leatherman Crater 33B

I think that's it for pure folders.

In the current rotation I've got a benchmade 915, 890, and 940, and spyderco pacific salt, para2, and caly3cf. All of those tend to see some pocket time every day.

Beyond that:
Benchmades
790,730,630,635,740,741,950,930,42
Spydercos
Delica ffg, lum ti, manix2, m2 in m4, m2 in s30v, sage2, ukpk ti

I know there are more that I just can't remember right now.
I've been on a custom and  kitchen knife kick lately though.

After scaling back and passing on some stuff of this nature to my two sons I am am down to 3 Folders excluding a few SAKs that I feel I cannot live without. One is a Great Eastern 73 Trapper(A bit pricey but well worth it in fit and finish that I picked up at their Knife Rendevous in Titusville Pa)
and two of Cold Steel's Offeringings I picked up a short while back with some of my annual safety bonus a Rajah II and a Serrated Rajah III..
